This is a very important Council here in Luxembourg today.
We start with migration. We have done a lot so far but we shouldn’t slow down now, on the contrary. Today, I am going to ask from all Ministers to do more on relocation. They have to continue relocating people. It is very important for relocation to work in this very critical moment, and to send experts and personnel to the EU agencies on the ground, in Italy and in Greece.
Dublin will also be one of the issues that we are going to discuss today. Because all the elements are on the table in order to move ahead. Dublin as we know it today is legally alive but practically is dead. So we need a new Dublin. A fairer Dublin that will be based on solidarity and responsibility.
In the wake, in the aftermath of the horrendous attacks in London, we all understand that this is the moment to do more on security at all levels in order to address this issue and ensure more security and safety for our citizens. Exchanging information; connecting all the dots, and working closer together. But is not only to work together, it is also about trusting each other. Today at this Council, we will contribute in making all together united steps forward.
So this is the menu of our meeting today in Luxembourg, and I am looking forward to having a fruitful and constructive discussion.
