The oath taking ceremony of newly commissioned Air Force Second Lieutenants was held yesterday evening, at the Hellenic Air Force Academy at the Air Base of Dekeleia in Tatoi-Attica. The sabre award ceremony for new AF Second Lieutenants was performed by the Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos.

The graduates of the Academy were 130 AF Second Lieutenants, of which 107 are from Greece, 9 from Cyprus, 3 from Jordan, 1 from Syria 5 from Libya, 1 from Montenegro, 3 from Nigeria and 1 from Zimbabwe.

The ceremony was also attended by the Alternate Minister of National Defence Fofi Gennimata, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Ioannis Labropoulos, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General (AF) Evaggelos Tournas, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Evaggelos Apostolakis and the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Christos Manolas.
