The Minister of National Defence and Deputy Leader of the New Democracy Party Dimitris Avramopoulos, made the following statement:
“As a major democratic and pro-European party, New Democracy is constantly and firmly contrary to the extremes, to antidemocratic behaviours and totalitarian ideologies.
It is the Party that consolidated democracy and parliamentarism in Greece after the regime changeover and put our country in the centre of United Europe and European institutions.
The government and the Prime Minister are the safeguards of constitutional order, political stability, our country’s course towards financial recovery and protection of our democratic institutions.
We ought to be united to ensure these acquisitions”.
