Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos sent a letter to His Beatitude John X, the newly elected Patriarch of Antioch today, expressing his warm congratulations and heartfelt wishes for success in the high calling of the Patriarchate of Antioch. In his letter, Mr. Avramopoulos stresses that Greece will continue to stand by the sorely tried Greek Orthodox community of Syria and fight for the protection of its rights and security.
