We congratulate President Obama. In his victory speech this morning, he set a noble example of political and democratic values.
On behalf of Greece, we wish him every success in adding to the accomplishments of his first term and in realising his vision.
What is important is that over the past four years, President Obama has included his partners, his allies and the peoples of the world in the shaping of this vision, for peace and democracy in the world.
In this spirit we will further deepen our cooperation with his Administration. Greece and America are very old allies. Old friends. True friends. Friends of trust and mutual respect. We will continue to work together to deal with the major challenges of our time: Building peace, security, stability and democracy all over the world. Facing together the deepening economic crisis. Building a prosperous future for our peoples.
