Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Vladimir Chkhikvishvili. During their meeting they discussed the prospects for strengthening Greek-Russian bilateral relations and the great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of economy, investments, energy and tourism.
Also discussed was the progress in energy plans on which Greece and Russia are cooperating, the scheduling of a convening of the bilateral Joint Economic Committee, and the enrichment of the contractual framework between the two countries. Both sides underscored the traditional friendship and close historical ties between the two peoples, which form an ideal foundation for the substantial deepening of bilateral relations.
