Meeting of Dimitris Avramopoulos with Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, 26/9/2025

 

 

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.

The Greek-American community is a living force which, through its work, values, and creativity, honors our homeland and consistently supports the advancement of our national interests. At the heart of this effort stands the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the inspired spiritual leadership of His Eminence.

We discussed the decisive contribution of the diaspora to strengthening the bonds between Greece and the United States, as well as initiatives that can highlight the Church’s role as a pillar of cohesion, hope, and creativity.

I expressed my respect and appreciation for the substantive support that the archdiocese provides to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, and for its ongoing commitment to safeguarding our spiritual and national mission.

Guided by its Church, the Greek-American community continues to serve as a beacon of values, unity, and hope for our nation.
