«The meeting of EU Defence Ministers in Vilnius focused on three key issues of discussion.
The first one was the reinforcement of the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Secondly, it was the development of the defence capabilities of the European Union and, thirdly, the enhancement of the European Defence Industry.
I was given the chance to brief my counterparts on the capabilities of the Greek Defence Industry and to stress the necessity to preserve it as a pillar for stability and security in the wider region.

However, there was a common approach to the fact that the use of chemical weapons is a crime of war and against humanity and this should not be doubted in the case of Syria.
I stressed the position of Greece about a political solution which requires us to exhaust all peaceful and diplomatic means, after the UN experts' mission is over, to know who are really responsible for this human tragedy and, certainly, punish them for that».
