The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos, in the context of his visit to the Hellenic Fleet HQ, also visited the shipbuilding sector of the Salamis Naval Base.
Mr. Avramopoulos congratulated the personnel of the Hellenic Navy for their mission and underlined:
“The excellent infrastructure of the Hellenic Navy ensures self sufficiency, self-reliance and explains – because only by seeing one can discover – how the Navy persists, standing and proud, under the current fiscal circumstances.
This shows that behind the Navy there is a great tradition of knowledge, expertise and structure and, as you know, logistics have determined wars, sometimes successfully, while others it has been registered as the cause of big destruction”.
