Today’s visit to Tanagra had a particular goal. I was briefed on the ongoing cooperation between the Hellenic Air Force and the Qatar Emiri Air Force, on the spot.
This cooperation is of special importance. We demonstrate that, besides the crisis and the problems we are facing, we still have one of the best defence systems, also trusted by foreign countries.
The cooperation developed between the two Air Forces is very specific as, of course, the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the training of Qatari pilots by Greek pilots on common combat aircraft the two Air Forces have.
Once more, on the occasion of this visit here, I would like to underline the great importance that our defence system has for our country.
Today, we visited our Air Force. Tomorrow we will visit more units, of other branches; for the reason that a noble spirit of national duty is still nourished here.
The entire personnel of the Armed Forces deserve congratulation since, despite the complicated conditions and the pressure exerted by the fiscal circumstance, they respond to their duty with dignity, efficiency, professionalism and, above all, with patriotic spirit.
This is the message extended by the Hellenic Armed Forces; a message of security, certainty and stability, towards all Greek citizens, but also the International Community. As our national defence system, with the best human resources and excellent infrastructure, has really been proven to be an agent of security, peace, cooperation and stability in the broader area, always at the service of international law and international legality.
