During the last six months we have made great progress in this field. Today the JAI will focus to adopt a Common European Asylum system. I have to be very clear on that: it is very important to achieve it. I hope that all MS in a very constructive and responsible way will contribute finally to find a common solution. We are not there yet, but it is very important to adopt a common policy. We do not know what the future is reserving for Europe. All MS must be well prepared for that by having a Common European Asylum policy. Something that did not exist before. If we had a common asylum system two years ago, we would not have been confronted with such a huge crisis and pressure. Now things have improved. We have made a great progress in all fields. Now is the moment to run the last mile in order to have a common policy in this field.
