Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos cancelled his visit to Tirana at the last minute, expressing the Greek government’s dismay at the Albanian Prime Minister’s statements marking the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Albanian independence.
Such statements do not contribute towards the creation of a climate of friendship, trust and good neighbourly relations between the two countries, and nor are they conducive to the development of joint initiatives in sectors of common interest, such as the political, economic and energy sectors.
