Dear Minister,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my abhorrence to the deplorable crime, which took place today in Copenhagen and cost the life of at least one citizen and wounded others. Please convey my warmest sympathies to the families of the victims.
Violent acts, which try to undermine the security of citizens and their right to express themselves freely, are simply not acceptable. The European Commission is determined to take the necessary steps that will help Denmark and all other EU Member States become more secure while, at the same time, upholding the fundamental rights of citizens in our democracies.
