I was delighted to accept the invitation of Georgios-Stylianos Prevelakis to co-present his book “At the OECD: Geopolitical Theory and Diplomatic Practice” together with Louka Katseli, Tatiana Spinari-Pollali, Angelos Syrigos, and with Antonis Papayiannidis, a profound connoisseur of the global stage, as moderator.
In a world undergoing transformations on the geo-strategic, economic, and geopolitical levels, the perspective of G. Prevelakis is both timely and significant. It contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of developments, with particular emphasis on history, geography, and the global economy.
Moreover, the role of the OECD — where Professor Prevelakis’ tenure has left a strong scientific and national imprint — has today been elevated. The recognition of geopolitical factors, together with the introduction of diplomatic practices into a primarily economic organization, opens a new horizon for international cooperation.
