The new website of the Ministry of National Defence aired today, early in the morning. The decision on its operation was taken in April 2012 by the Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos.
The planning and materialisation of the new website was performed by the Department of Information Systems, Communications and New Technologies of the MOD, in cooperation with the Minister’s Department of Information Systems and the Ministry’s Directorate of Press and Public Information.
It should be pointed out that the new website was entirely materialised by the military personnel of the Department of Information Systems, Communications and New Technologies, with open source software tools and, principally, without any cost. It is a reliable, secure and user-friendly website, which incorporates all modern technologies. It is also adapted to the standards set by the Greek e-Government Interoperability Framework for all Public Sector bodies.
Lastly it is underlined that, besides www.mod.mil.gr and www.mod.gr, the new website can also be visited using the link www.ypetha.gr.
