The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos awarded certificates and Wing insignia to fourth year cadets of the Hellenic Military Academy and the Hellenic Corps Officers’ Military School who were trained in static line parachute fall, on a ceremony held in Parachutists’ School, Aspropyrgos, today.
The Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Chief of HNDGS, Gen. Michail Kostarakos and the Chief of HAGS, Lt. Gen. Christos Manolas.
After the Wing Insignia were awarded to fourth year cadets of the Hellenic Military Academy and the Corps Officers’ Military School, the Minister of National Defence stated, among others:
“I would like in the name of the Greek state to congratulate you for your decision to join this special training programme, dedicating valuable time from your family and personal life and also being fully aware of its dangers, its significance and its importance.
I wish you, most of all, to be healthy and continue your brilliant career with pride and dignity and keeping in mind that you have one mission: to serve the country, the Hellenic Republic, to serve the supreme principles and values which have kept this country alive.
You joined the Parachutists’ School due to your courage which outdoes a person’s normal courage. You should always remember this beautiful experience because you accomplished it with pride. The courage itself should guide you and help you progress with optimism and strength, always to the benefit of all of us and to the benefit of our country”.
